About Jampa Ling
Jampa
Ling was established in 1990 under the guidance
and spiritual direction of Panchen Ötrul
Rinpoche. It is a residential retreat centre located
among the hills and lakes of north west County
Cavan in the Republic of Ireland. |
Centred in a large Victorian house called
Owendoon, Jampa Ling is situated in thirteen
acres of meadow, woodland and gardens, and
borders a lake.
The name Jampa Ling means 'place of
infinite loving-kindness'. The
Centre is run by a small group of Panchen
Ötrul Rinpoche's students and supported
by many others scattered near and far across
the world. It is open to visitors, both Buddhist
and those of other traditions (or none). |

Plans for Growth
Jampa Ling has recently completed the conversion of an old
stone barn and coach house to provide new accommodation
for groups of up to twenty people. The new facility is called
'Tara House' (please click link at left for further
information). Provision of a mobile-home at the southern
end of the walled garden for longer solitary retreats has
also recently been achieved. We plan in time to develop
other old farm buildings as a retreat centre. The founder
of the Centre has donated some of these buildings to the
Jampa Ling Trust and our board of trustees wish to further
consolidate the future of the Centre by purchasing Owendoon
House.
