Clare and Galway Visits Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th April

Venerable Rinpoche travelled to Ennistymon, Co. Clare to bless Sinead Ní Gháirbhith’s new fine cheese and coffee shop “The Cheese Press.” A group of Rinpoche’s Co. Clare students and friends gathered in the main street shop for the blessing ceremony. We wish Sinead every success with her business venture.

The following day, Ven. Rinpoche gave an interview and public talk with Aoife McElwain. The talk was hosted by Aoibheann McNamara at Ard Bia-The house in Galway. A large crowd gathered for this intimate talk. This event was a fundraiser for the Owendoon House Purchase Fund for Jampa Ling centre. We would like to thank Aoibheann and Aoife for organising the event.

Easter Retreat – Friday 14th April – Monday 17th April

This was a silent retreat. It was a led retreat using meditations on the teachings given by Ven. Rinpoche during the winter teachings. It was an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the teachings and integrate them into our daily lives. We would like to thank Venerable Rinpoche for his winter teachings and for a wonderful retreat.

U3A Visit Jampa Ling – Thursday 27th April

A group of 10 people from a U3A group came to visit Jampa Ling. They were welcomed with light refreshments and given a tour of our centre and time for questions and answers about Buddhism and Jampa Ling. This was followed by a guided meditation and lunch. They had free time in the afternoon to enjoy the grounds and to have a look in our shop.

Silent Meditation Weekend – Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April

This weekend welcomed anyone of any background to come to Jampa Ling and partake in the sessions. The weekend was in silence and was enjoyed by all.

Yoga with Isabella

One of our volunteers, Isabella, is a yoga teacher in training and she offers weekly yoga classes in Jampa Ling. Please contact us for further information. Donations are in aid of the House Fund.

Community Gardening

Come and join us every Wednesday for our community gardening day from 10am. Our main gardener, Aisling, will be there and she and the other volunteers would really love you to give them a hand.

Meditations at Jampa Ling

We have three meditation practices every day at Jampa Ling. We also have two additional meditation practices – Meditation for Beginners every Monday night from 7pm to 8pm and a Mindfulness/Awareness Mediation every Wednesday night from 7pm to 8pm – both are in Tara House. There is no need to book to come to these, just simply show up. They are donation-based.

WWOOFers

This April we had three WWOOFers, Tomáŝ from Czech Republic, Laurianne from France, and Karoliina from Finland. Thank you both for all your help. All three WWOOFers left at the end of the month for their next hosts. We wish them all the best in the future.
