Dear students and friends of Jampa Ling,

We wanted to let you know about a couple of events taking place in Counties Clare and Sligo in the coming weeks. First off, for those of you in Sligo or the north-west, there will be a six-week course in meditation technique and ways to develop a peaceful mind facilitated by Joy O’Reilly. The classes will take place in The Yeats Memorial Building starting on Wednesday the 25th of September.

The course is for beginners or those wanting to resume their practice. Joy has been a student of Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche for many years.  She is also an experienced psychologist and regularly runs group meditations in  Sligo under the guidance of  Rinpoche. Please contact the office for further details.

We are delighted to announce that the much loved Clare Harvest Banquet is returning this year to The Old Ground Hotel, Ennis, Co Clare. The Irish Times in 2012 has hailed it as ‘the unmissable food event of the year’.

Food is followed by live music from Ennis Brass Band followed after the meal by ‘The Fake McCoys’ the ragtime, country blues band from East Clare.  There will also be a raffle and auction of beautiful rare Mongolian Art Work on the night.

Cost: Tickets cost €50, please book early to avoid disappointment, contact Sinéad Ní Gháirbhith on 085-7607037 or email at sineadnig@hotmail.com for more information or check our www.clareharvestbanquet.com

On a completely different note, this year seems to be an unprecedented for the amount of clothing left behind by visitors! We store this clothing, but unfortunately cannot do so indefinitely. If you think you have left something at Jampa Ling, please call or e-mail the office and describe the item. We intend to donate any clothing that is not claimed by Halloween to Angela’s ongoing project to raise funds for Rinpoche’s project in Mongolia.
