Jampa Ling is
a non governmental organisation working with local
partners in Mongolia
and India
to reduce suffering, promote and develop
life supporting, self-sustaining projects, provide training, health
care and education, and achieve improvements in the lives of people
living in poverty.
For as little as 50 cents a day* you can help children, adults and
their communities by becoming a sponsor.
MONGOLIA
Imagine living in a
tent with temperatures of over minus thirty degrees with only old
clothes to burn for heat. Children end up on the streets where they
experience hunger, discrimination and danger. Vast numbers of
Mongolians are experiencing severe hardship, extreme climates,
unemployment and famine.
Altanzul
is a 10 year old Mongolia girl living
in Ulaanbaater. Her mother and elder sister have no work and she has
two younger sisters. ‘Mother collects tins and bottles and tries to
sell them. We feel very cold inside our home without food and warm
clothes. We are always sick’
INDIA
Families,
children, monks and nuns escaping from Tibet make the long
and hazardous journey across the Himalaya. Trekking thousand of miles
on foot, they often arrive sick, homeless, without money or any means
of support.
Tsering Dolma
is a young Tibetan woman who crossed the
Himalayas seeking refuge in India. ‘Since my arrival I have been
falling ill constantly and require to visit hospitals frequently. I
don’t have anyone here in India and I am unable to pay the big expenses
due to my hospital visits. I am jobless also.’
50 cents a day
* can help
people like Altanzul and Tsering to improve their lives and fulfil
their potential. You can help them to get well, train and become self
sufficient. By helping one person you will help a whole community.
