On Sunday 24th August 2014, Jampa Ling Northern Ireland attended the Belfast Mela event in Botanic Gardens .

We were fortunate to have warm, sunny weather for the whole day!! A packed capacity crowd of 25,000 attended this multi-cultural event with everything from Indian ‘Bollywood’ dancers & singers, to African drummers and Irish dancing.

We were thoroughly entertained all day long while everyone shopped, danced and ate at the various ethnic food tents. We were also delighted to have the happy company of Ani La, Younam, William, James and Isabella, who all helped to make it a great success.

Ven. Panchen Otrul Rinpoche’s Centre , Jampa Ling Northern Ireland , had its usual stall selling Tibetan crafts, Dharma items, jewellery and raffle tickets for our super, luxury hamper. Proceeds raised go towards Rinpoche’s various charities including the elderly monks in Drepung Monastery, South India and the running expenses of His Centre in Northern Ireland .

Of course, this could not of been done without the support of all those who were there on the day, cheerfully setting up, manning the stall, selling raffle tickets and packing up afterwards. A very big thank you therefore, to everyone who helped, gave up their time , donated the hamper and various items and enabled us to raise funds for our beloved Venerable Panchen Otrul Rinpoche’s charities.

We hope even more of Rinpoche’s students will join us for the fun next year!!!
