SUMMER PROGRAMME EVENTS IN AUGUST
- Monday 3rd August (August Bank Holiday weekend) OPEN DAY AT JAMPA LING from 2.30pm – 5pm
Linked with Bawnboy’s Festival Week. Everyone is invited to spend an informal day at the centre, and to enjoy the garden and grounds with your friends and relatives. Stay for a cup of tea and visit our craft shop. There will also be a Cake Sale and a Book Sale to raise funds for Asral Charity, Rinpoche’s Mongolian project. Offers to help on the day are greatly appreciated – please contact the centre.
- Saturday 8th August MEDITATION FOR BEGINNERS
Feeling anxious or stressed? Learn techniques on how to develop a calm and peaceful mind through meditation. The value of meditation in different areas of our lives is gaining recognition; in health, education and for general happiness and well-being. This introduction to meditation will give you a personal experience of a calmer and more peaceful mind. 10.30am – 4pm. Cost €45 including lunch. ** On this weekend we are holding two events. Some people may enjoy the opportunity to stay on Saturday night and attend the Natural Voice and Singing Workshop the next day.
- Sunday 9th August NATURAL VOICE & SINGING WORKSHOP
Led by Anna Felton and Eileen Stephens This highly popular workshop gives us the opportunity to express ourselves in song. No previous singing ability is necessary – just to learn to enjoy the sound of your own voice and and have fun singing.
10.30am – 4.30pm. Cost €45 including lunch.
- Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th August WHITE TARA RETREAT
For those students with this initiation. Starts with registration 7pm on Friday 14th August
- Sat 22nd & Sun 23rd August A PEACEFUL MIND – A PEACEFUL LIFE
This is a weekend of guided meditations to help us develop awareness of what brings us peace of mind and harmony in our lives. We all wish for a calmer and more fulfilling life and these meditations help us look at what may bring us this. There will be sitting meditations and a period of moving meditation. It will be possible to have a discussion or question and answer period on the Saturday night if participants would like that. You are encouraged to arrive on the Friday evening if you can. Your evening meal and accommodation are included. People arriving on Saturday or Sunday, please arrive by 9:00am. The Retreat will be in Silence.
Cost: Residential €160. Non Residential: €90. One day only €45

- Sunday 30th August VINYASA FLOW YOGA with Lauren Hensey
A day of Yoga with Lauren. Lauren is an experienced yoga teacher and regularly runs yoga classes in Sligo. You will be guided through a day of Vinyasa Yoga suitable for all physical abilities. We will progress gently and safely through yoga asanas, relaxation and brief periods of guided meditation. Our focus will be on taking some time out for ourselves to breathe and open the body, cultivating spaciousness in thought and meeting new friends in the process.
Come, enjoy the day and relax, wear comfy clothes; mats and other props will be provided.
TIME: 11.30 am – 4pm. Cost €45 including lunch; the full cost of the day will be donated to Asral Charity, which is Ven. Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche’s project in Mongolia.

It will be possible to have a discussion or question and answer period on the Saturday night. You are welcome to arrive on the Friday evening if you wish. You are encouraged to arrive on the Friday evening if you can. Your evening meal and accommodation are included. People arriving on Saturday or Sunday morning, please arrive by 9:00am.

- Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September WORK WEEKEND
These weekends are a great opportunity to come and help at Jampa Ling and meet new friends in an informal setting. The centre needs continual maintenance and the tasks completed on these weekends are a tremendous help to the centre. Everyone is welcome, whether skilled or unskilled. This is a very good opportunity for new people to come and visit the centre. Accommodation and meals are offered in return for work.
- Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September YAMANTAKA RETREAT
A weekend of meditation for Rinpoche’s students who have received this initiation.
Starts with registration 7pm on Friday
FURTHER AHEAD:
- Friday 2nd October – CLARE HARVEST BANQUET
This year’s Banquet is to be held on Friday 2
nd October. Cost is €50 and is to be held at The Old Ground Hotel, Ennis, Co Clare. It is a five course meal followed by live Entertainment & complimentary glass of local brew. All the food used feeding the 250 people attending is sourced, even the salt is made by boiling off Clare sea water and only Clare butter is used in the cooking, desserts only made using Clare cream, honey, Burren wild hazelnuts, etc. Special guest this year is Ven. Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche, Director of Asral Charity, Mongolia, the charity that receives all the proceeds from the Banquet every year. “The unmissable food event of the year” (The Irish Times.)
