‘Often when reading Dharma books we read quite fast and when we finish we say, ‘that was a nice book’, but we don’t remember much of it. Instead before reading calm the mind by doing a short breathing meditation or recite some mantras, then read only one or two pages, reflecting and trying to realise and understand what you are reading. Do a little bit like this on a daily basis and in one year you will have quite a good result.’

The Venerable Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche.
