‘The mind is like the soil in a field. To grow crops one prepares the soil properly first by removing big stones, weeds and scrub. When properly prepared and cared for, the seeds sown can yield a good harvest.
Similarly with our minds. If we train our minds properly, by developing awareness of destructive negative emotions and thoughts, weeding them out and replacing them with wholesome positive ones of love, compassion and wisdom, our minds and lives can be transformed.’
The Venerable Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche.
