‘When meditating good focus is important. If you lose your object of meditation you might still be sitting in a meditation posture, but you’re not meditating. Try doing one or two minutes with good focus, then relax. After relaxing try doing another one or two minutes with good focus. The mind doesn’t like to be forced. Practising in this way will make meditation a joyful experience that you will return to doing. If you keep forcing your mind to focus you may never return to meditating.’
The Venerable Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche.
