‘In ancient times the masters have said, if you have very dirty clothes, in the beginning when you wash them the rough dirt is gone. Then when you wash again a little bit more goes. And again, more subtle dirt goes, and again even more subtle dirt goes.

Similar to when we practise. In the beginning, many negativities may be purified, then slowly more subtle ones, and even more subtle ones, until ultimately our minds become totally pure.’

The Venerable Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche.
