‘One time a student of the Indian Master Atisha said to him, “Lama, you were angry with me this time, that time and this other time.” Atisha said, “Yes I have anger. But I don’t hold onto it. Once it arises and I get angry I let it go. Don’t hold on and think over and over about it.” Holding onto emotions like anger and jealousy and think over and over about them will increase their strength and further disturb our mind.’

The Venerable Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche.
