Winter Teachings – Finding Peace and Happiness in Everyday Life
We are honoured and extremely grateful that Ven. Rinpoche has accepted our request to teach during 2016 and 2017. Our fourth teaching was on the weekend of 11th and 12th February. Ven. Rinpoche taught on ‘Developing a Flexible Mind through Meditation’
The text used for the teachings is ‘The Bodhisattva’s Way of Life’ by Shantideva. We express our sincere thanks to Ven. Rinpoche for his teachings.
Upcoming Teaching – 11th & 12th March 2017
Recognition of the Nature of Wisdom
Buddhism teaches there are two truths: the ultimate truth and the conceptual or relative truth. The mind that we experience is a mind which obscures us from seeing or experiencing the ultimate truth of our mind. It is by learning how our conceptual mind functions, through the illusion of our emotions and senses, that the ultimate compassion and wisdom of the Bodhisattvas can be realised.
Upcoming Yoga and Meditation Workshop – Saturday 25th March 2017
Due to popular demand, we have another upcoming Yoga and Meditation Workshop led by one of our volunteers and yoga teacher-in-training, Isabella, on Saturday 25th March 2017. The day begins with some yoga and breathing exercises (pranayama) in the morning and with a tour of the house and a meditation session in the Shrine Room in the afternoon. There is an opportunity for questions and answers about Buddhism and Jampa Ling. A final yoga session concludes the day. All proceeds are in aid of the Jampa Ling House Purchase Fund.

Losar – Tibetan New Year – Sunday 26th February 2017
Since Jampa Ling was established in 1990 we have celebrated Losar, The Tibetan New Year, here at the centre. Around 70 people attended the event, including 14 Tibetans. The day began with speeches and prayers in the Shrine Room, along with traditional food offerings and a smoke puja outside before lunch. The weather cleared up beautifully for the smoke puja. After lunch there was a singing and dancing session enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who helped out and attended the event.
Yoga with Isabella
One of our volunteers, Isabella, is a yoga teacher in training and she offers weekly yoga classes in Jampa Ling. Please contact us for further information. Donations are in aid of the House Fund.
Community Gardening
Come and join us every Wednesday for our community gardening day from 10am. Our main gardener, Aisling, will be there and she and the other volunteers would really love you to give them a hand.
Meditations at Jampa Ling
We have three meditation practices every day at Jampa Ling. We also have two additional meditation practices – Meditation for Beginners every Monday night from 7pm to 8pm and a Mindfulness/Awareness Mediation every Wednesday night from 7pm to 8pm – both are in Tara House. There is no need to book to come to these, just simply show up. They are donation-based.
WWOOFers
This February we had the same three WWOOFers, Tomáŝ from Czech Republic, Linda from the Netherlands and Marion from France. We are so grateful for all their help so far. Linda has left for her next WWOOFing host earlier this week. We wish her all the best in her future travels. Tomáŝ and Marion will be staying with us for the month of March.
Raffle Tickets
We would like to remind you about the raffle tickets that you may have received recently. There is no obligation to sell the tickets but we would really appreciate anyone who can. Please return both sold and unsold tickets to the office at Jampa Ling by 21st April 2017.
