Ven. Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche has visited Mongolia annually for the last twenty-four years; firstly, to support the revival of Buddhism after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and secondly, to address the ensuing poverty by supporting some of the capital’s most disadvantaged people, especially single mothers and their children, through education, practical skills training and hot meal projects.
Ven. Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche arrived in Ulaanbaatar and was greeted by Ven. Thuksay Rinpoche, Burmaa (Director, Asral NGO), and a number of students at the airport. More students and friends carrying colourful scarfs greeted Ven. Rinpoche at the centre, followed by long-life prayers and mandala offering. After a brief teaching, Ven. Rinpoche expressed his gratitude to all the people and organisations who have continuously contributed to and supported his humanitarian projects in Mongolia.
