Interfaith Pilgrimage of Prayer for Peace in Belfast
International Peace Day, Saturday 21st September 2013, will be marked by a number of activities including an Interfaith Pilgrimage of Prayer for Peace in Belfast. This will be a walk of around one mile starting from Carlise Circus at 3.30 pm and finishing at Belfast City Hall at 4.30 pm. The walk is open to people of faith and to those who possess no particular faith.
Walkers will be required to observe silence during the walk. No banners or placards will be carried. There will be no speeches. The walk is an opportunity to pause, reflect, pray and consider how best to work together to move on from cultures of violence and build cultures of hospitality and safety for all. Walkers will be invited to reflect and pray for people and a world free of weapons and warfare.
