Report on Long life prayers day by Younam
On Sunday 21 July, we celebrated Long Life Prayers for Ven. Panchen Otrul Rinpoche. People came from all over Ireland to attend. We had purification practices and the Amitayu practice in the morning, and afterwards had a wonderful lunch together.
After lunch, we invited Ven. Rinpoche to the Shrine Room where a procession of his students and well-wishers had lined up to receive him. Then we formally offered Buddhist items of long life representing the Buddha’s body, speech and mind in a Long Life Mandala Offering. The images had been filled with sacred mantras by the Gyume University Tantric monks in India. It was a very beautiful day and many people were moved.
Rinpoche will be visiting Mongolia soon for two months, and then on the 16th December 2013 he will travel to India returning on the 31st of January 2014.
