New events taking place at Jampa Ling this May/June have just been announced. First off is a silent retreat weekend taking place over the weekend of the 18th and 19th of May. If you have never experienced a weekend of silence before this is a terrific opportunity to give yourself a wonderful present. If you have done one before and feel you deserve another then why not book now!
The following weekend includes an Introduction to Meditation course on Saturday May 25th and Saga Dawa on Sunday May 26th. Saga Dawa is a celebration of the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and passing into Nirvana and is an important day for Buddhists all over the world. Visitors who wish to take the Introduction to Meditation course – and learn practical techniques for developing a more peaceful mind – are very welcome to join us for the celebrations on the following day. If you’ve never been to Jampa Ling before, this is a great day for you or your whole family to come and see the centre. Or it could be a chance to meet some old friends once again, hear some music and enjoy some delicious vegetarian food (bring and share).
Finally, Jampa Ling is pleased to announce a Chanting and Meditation Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 1st / 2nd. When Chanting and meditation come together, they help to develop a peaceful and tranquil mind. On this weekend there will be training and instruction in Buddhist chanting and periods of guided meditation. This weekend is suitable for people who would like try these practices for the first time and for regular practitioners to help find their chanting voice and deepen their practice.
Please contact the office if you would like to know more about any of these events.
Hope to see you soon!
