In 1995, H.H. the Dalai Lama asked Ven. Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche to help with the re-establishment of Buddhism in Mongolia and to give Dharma teachings to Mongolian people.
Every year since then, Ven. Rinpoche has visited Mongolia as his health has permitted. Through the efforts of many supportive individuals in Ireland and Mongolia, Ven. Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche has established an NGO charity called ASRAL for the people of Mongolia, as well as a flourishing Buddhist centre, Kunkhyab Jampa Ling. Together, these organisations have benefited thousands of impoverished people from the shanty towns of Ulanbaataar city and from other regions across the vast country of Mongolia.
