Visit to Correctional Facilities in Ulaanbaatar
The Venerable Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche recently undertook a compassionate and meaningful visit to several correctional institutions in Ulaanbaatar, including the women’s prison, the juvenile detention centre, and the men’s prison. During these visits, Venerable Rinpoche shared profound teachings that offered solace, encouragement, and inspiration to everyone present.
In his teachings, Venerable Rinpoche emphasised the transformative power of knowledge and education, highlighting that time is a vital resource in pursuing a meaningful and fulfilling life. He explained that authentic personal development begins with developing a virtuous mindset, pointing out that by nurturing positive attitudes and wholesome motivations, individuals start a process of profound inner transformation.
Venerable Rinpoche further emphasised the importance of developing a positive outlook as the foundation for a meaningful existence. Central to this, he stated, is the ability to understand others and to communicate in a way that is harmonious, respectful, and considerate. Such qualities not only encourage mutual understanding but also help build a more compassionate and lasting human connection.
He finished his teachings by affirming that discipline is the foundation of genuine happiness, and he encouraged everyone present to reflect on these values whenever possible.

Visit to Lamrim Monastery in Ulaanbaatar
Venerable Rinpoche has been regularly invited to Lamrim Monastery since his first visit to Mongolia in 1995. This year, Venerable Bayantsagan, the Abbot of Lamrim Monastery in Ulaanbaatar, extended an invitation to Venerable Rinpoche to visit the monastery and requested that he give a Dharma teaching. Venerable Rinpoche gave a teaching on Lamrim – The Stages of the Complete Path to Enlightenment. He also bestowed oral transmissions of several important mantras.
Visit to Gandantegchinlen Monastery, Ulanbaatar
Venerable Rinpoche visited Gandantegchinlen Monastery, the principal centre of Buddhist practice and learning in Mongolia. During his visit, he offered prayers and paid homage to the sacred statue of the Buddha Avalokiteśvara, revered as the embodiment of boundless compassion.
Humanitarian Award
In recognition of the positive impact and contributions made to the lives of over 2,500 children through 30 years of humanitarian work in the Bayangol district, Venerable Rinpoche was honoured with the title of Outstanding Humanitarian of Bayangol District. Chimegee, the Governor of the 9th Subdistrict, presented the award.
